Socorro County, New Mexico (2014)

Client: HDR

Role: Rocky Mountain Paleo Solutions performed an analysis of existing paleontological data including a geologic map review, aerial photo review, fossil locality search, literature search, and consultation with technical experts with knowledge of the paleontological importance of the project area vicinity. The project, which consists of highway realignment, crosses Plio-Pleistocene sedimentary deposits of the Camp Rice Formation, which is known to be fossiliferous in the area. Mitigation measures were developed and included in the paleontological resource impact evaluation report submitted to the BLM.
